What is an air source heat pump?
An air source heat pump extracts heat from the outside air — even in cold weather — and uses it to heat your home and hot water. It works a bit like a fridge in reverse, moving heat rather than burning fuel, which makes it far more efficient than a traditional boiler.
How does a heat pump actually work?
A fan draws in outside air across a refrigerant, which absorbs the heat and is then compressed to raise its temperature. That heat is transferred to your heating system and hot water. For every unit of electricity used, a well-designed heat pump can deliver three or more units of heat.
Is my home suitable for a heat pump?
Most homes can run a heat pump effectively, but proper design matters. We assess your property, insulation and existing system, then give you honest guidance on suitability and any improvements that would help — no pressure, just clear advice.
